The Steamer and Baked Oyster Bar is the newest concept from Eddie Spence and David Cahoon owners of the Shrimp Basket and Mikee’s Seafood. The idea of this cozy restaurant that is just off the beaten path is to provide steamed dishes to those who are looking for a change without giving up the taste. They also boast a selection of the best baked oysters in Gulf Shores.
When you come to The Steamer you will find no fried food in this laid back establishment. Our menu consists of an array of seafood ranging from Heads and Tails (Royal Reds and Large Tail on Shrimp) to Alaskan and Dungeness Crawlers (Crab Legs) and a little bit of everything in between. We didn’t forget the land lovers though, for those who prefer their meal from the field we have Henny Penny Chicken Breast, Adam’s Ribeye and Eve’s Beef & Reef, just to name a few. For a special treat you can also get Pearls on the Half Shell (Raw), or if you prefer your oysters can be Tanned in the Sun (Baked).You can have your choice of seven different kinds.
The Steamer also has a full bar and a great selection of frozen drinks including Amaretto Orange Blossom, Margarita and don’t forget the Bushwackers. You can enjoy your meal as you relax on our covered deck and watch the beautiful Gulf Shores sunset or in the cool air conditioning inside on those steamy hot L.A. days.
